Data and Records
About the Data
The PatentBarRegister is built on a single principle: every data point must be traceable to a public, authoritative source. This page is the entry point for understanding where our data comes from, how it's processed, and what rights you have.
Data Provenance & Classification Methodology
All baseline practitioner data is synchronized daily from the USPTO Office of Enrollment and Discipline (OED) public roster. Beyond the baseline, technical specialties and filing volumes are inferred through a deterministic, two-pass pipeline — BigQuery heuristic name-matching and ODP registration-keyed joins — followed by CPC concentration mapping over a trailing 60-month window. No generative AI is used to predict or guess a practitioner's expertise.
Regulatory Compliance Notice
The Register operates as a passive, factual directory — not a referral or matchmaking service. This notice covers non-endorsement, the "Format Certified" badge definition, professional responsibility, conception and inventorship mandates, client disclosure, fee-splitting prohibition, and the practitioner opt-out and data erasure protocol.
